Hockey, Done
the Right Way

Developing Players. Building People. Impacting the Game.

Hockey should be for everyone. Whether you're buying your first pair of skates, learning to play as an adult, developing as a young athlete, or competing at a high level, Next Shift brings together coaching, equipment, and community to help every player take the next step.

Why Next Shift Exists

Hockey can be one of the most rewarding parts of family life, but it can also feel expensive, confusing, and overwhelming.

Every season brings new decisions about gear, teams, development, time, money, and expectations. Too often, families are expected to figure it out alone.

Next Shift exists to help players, families, women, coaches, and teams make confident hockey decisions while protecting what makes the game worth loving. We do not make hockey easy. We make hockey easier to navigate.

Who We Work With

Every family comes to hockey with a different story. Our job is to meet you where you are and guide you forward.

Parents

You want your child to be confident on the ice, safe in their gear, and surrounded by the right people. You also want to know your time and money are going to the right places.

Players

You want to feel the puck on your stick more, trust your edges, and know you’ve done the work when tryouts come.

Women in Hockey

You’re ready to step onto the ice yourself, learn the skills properly, and skate with people who respect where you’re starting from.

Coaches & Teams

You want practices that run smoothly, players who stay engaged, and a team culture that feels strong on and off the ice.

Good Places to Start

You don’t have to do everything at once. Choose one step that fits your player right now.

Summer Camps

Week-long camps that give players more touches, more feedback, and a chance to build confidence with kids at a similar level.

Women’s Learn to Play

A structured, welcoming setting where women can learn skating, puck skills, and game sense at a steady, comfortable pace.

 4-on-4 Leagues

Small-team games that keep you moving, give you lots of puck time, and make it easy to get to know the other players.

Private Lessons

Focused one-on-one sessions built around clear goals, so every rep has a purpose.

A Simple Path Through Hockey

Hockey can feel complicated—new teams, new advice, new expectations every year. We use a clear, steady approach so you always know what you’re working toward.

Excel

Learn the basics well: balance, edges, stopping, and feeling comfortable in gear.

Add age-appropriate camps, lessons, and off-ice work that build real habits, not shortcuts.

Prepare for tryouts and seasons with training that matches your player’s level and the teams they’re aiming for.

For players who want to push further, we support higher-level goals while protecting their love for the game.

What We Believe

Hockey should add to a child’s life, not take it over.

Honest guidance matters more than another sale.

Girls’ and women’s hockey is central to the future of the game.

Parents deserve clear guidance, not judgment.

More hockey is not always better hockey.

Success is measured over years, not weekends.

What Training Looks Like Here

We respect the way hockey has always been taught—good habits, hard work, and showing up. We also use newer tools to make sure every minute and every dollar count.

Hockey treadmill sessions (coming soon) to work on stride and posture in a controlled setting.

Shooting lanes and skills areas designed for focused, repeatable reps.

Video and off-ice support so players understand what they’re doing well and what to adjust.

What Families and Players Are Saying

The best measure of our work is how players and families feel over time—on the ice and at home.

“We used to guess which camps and teams were right. Now we have a plan that fits our son and our family.”

Sarah, U11 parent

“Our practices are sharper, and the kids understand why we’re doing what we’re doing. That’s made the biggest difference.”

Mike, Rep coach

“I never felt rushed or out of place. The women’s sessions gave me space to learn and still feel like part of a team.”

Amanda, Women’s Learn to Play
